Taylors celebrate 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Taylor, 8424S. Campbell Road, Monroe City, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday.

A reception in their honor will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church (rural Monroe City). The reception is given by their children, Mike Taylor of Alma, Ga., Sharon Bennett of Princeton, Karen Ellerman of Hazelton and Wes Taylor of Washington.

Bert Taylor of Monroe City and the former Thelma Helderman of Vincennes were united in marriage on Sept. 18, 1948, at the North Methodist Church in Vincennes. The service was performed by Rev. Frank Little and attendants for the couple were Richard Carter and Idalea Stewart.

Mr. Taylor is retired from Hamilton Glass Factory and from farming. Mrs. Taylor continues as a homemaker. They have nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

All are invited, but the couple does request no gifts.
