Harmans celebrate 50th anniversary
Jerry and Helen (Byers) Harman of Washington will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday.
They were married Nov. 22, 1959, at the First Methodist Church in Bedford, by the late Rev. Robert E. Green. Attendants were the bride's sister, Shirley Bishop, and the groom's brother, Howard Harman, Jr.
Parents of the couple are the late Howard and Carolyn (Smith) Harman and Arnum and Irene (Torr) Byers.
The Harmans are the parents of three children, Phillip (Pamela) Harman of Columbus, Melissa (Stephen) Brothers and David (Kelaine) Harman, both of Washington.
They have seven grandchildren.
Jerry is a retired mechanical engineer from NWCS Crane, and Helen is a retired secretary from Jefferson and Veale elementary schools.
The couple will celebrate their anniversary with family by attending service at the First Methodist Church in Bedford, followed by a dinner in Bloomington.
