City Electric Department workers take a large crane to an old transformer at the south substation Thursday. According to Mayor Larry Haag, the city is replacing several older transformers, some as old as 50 years, in favor of smaller transformers. “It will improve the service and reduce the cost of the organization,” Haag said.
