INDOT awards county $2.5 million

To be used for CR 900E project.

WASHINGTON — The state Department of Transportation has awarded Daviess County $2.5 million for the county's CR 900E project.

The funds will be used to construct 8-foot shoulders for Amish buggy lanes along the road. Construction will begin in 2013.

"It's a great project in a community that needs it," INDOT Deputy Commissioner for Major Projects Sam Sarvis said.
