WASHINGTON —
A Washington man was stabbed in a domestic dispute early Saturday morning.
William S. Combs, 28, suffered a cut and stab wounds to his torso, according to a release by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department. He is currently in fair condition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.
Combs was allegedly stabbed by Cole R. Ross, 25, Washington, who is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on a charge of attempted murder.
The release stated that about 1:29 a.m. Saturday, 911 received a call from the Christina Riggle residentce, 2257E 400S, about a domestic problem.
While deputies were en route, they received a second call about a knife involved in the fight. When they arrived, deputies found Combs with his injuries and Ross with a cut on his hand.
Both were taken to Daviess Community Hospital where Combs was taken by Air Evac to St. Mary’s and Ross was treated and released. After release, he was taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing into the incident.
