EVANSVILLE, Ind. —
Vanderburgh County Circuit Court Judge Carl Heldt is taking into consideration a plea agreement for former Daviess County Chief Deputy Ron Morgan. Morgan's case was in court this morning here. Morgan was originally charged with bribery and assisting a criminal, both Class C felonies.
Instead, Heldt will consider a charge of ghost employment, a Class D felony, and the Class C felonies would be dropped.
If the plea agreement is accepted by Judge Heldt, Morgan could be sentenced for six months to three years in jail, and subject to a fine up to $10,000.
