Text message phishing scam hits area

WASHINGTON — The Daviess County Sheriff's Department wants to warn the public about a text message phishing scam which has hit the area.

The text message is circulating to local mobile phones and asking for personal information. Sheriff's officials warn that it is important not to call these numbers back and not to give any personal information.
