PLAINVILLE — Three people were seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning. Devin M. Flynn, 16, 1159E 150S, was driving west on CR 800N at 8:08 a.m. when for unknown reason she lost control of a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire, registered to Richard Flynn of the same address. She overcorrected, causing the car to slide off the north side of the road, first striking a ditch and then a utility pole with the driver’s door. The impact broke the REMC pole off at the base. The car then overturned once ejecting the driver and the front seat passenger, Benjamin M. Wagler, 20, Odon. The car came to rest on its wheels in a soybean field belonging to Richard Myers. Flynn was partially trapped under the car, but Wagler was able to free her. He was also able to free the back seat passenger, Flynn’s sister, Angie G. Garten, 14, 1159E 150S. No seatbelts were in use. All three were taken by ambulance to Daviess Community Hospital and then flown by AirEvac and St. Mary’s Life Line helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital, Evansville. Flynn suffered internal injury to her entire body. Wagler suffered pain to his knee, lower leg and foot and Garten suffered pain to her entire body. At press time, Flynn was listed in critical condition, Garten in serious condition and Wagler in stable condition, according to the Evansville Courier and Press. Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000. Investigating officer was Sheriff’s deputy Kevin Eaton, assisted by Sheriff Steve Cox, Lt. Chuck Milton, Plainville Volunteer firefighters, Southwest Medical Ambulance Service, AirEvac, St. Mary’s Life Line and Daviess-Martin County REMC.

Petersburg men arrested in truck wash armed robbery
An Indiana State Police investigation into the Jan. 29 armed robbery at Blue Beacon Truck Wash located near U.S. 41 and I-64 has prompted criminal charges being filed against Larry Nathaniel Davis, 26, and Branden Joe Walburn, 26, both from Petersburg. Felony warrants were issued yesterday afternoon for their arrests. At approximately 11:30 Tuesday night, Indiana State Police executed the warrants and arrested Davis and Walburn without incident.
