Thomas Joseph “T.J.” Schaffer, son of Tom and Elizabeth Schaffer of Odon, is engaged to Brittany Amber Adkins, daughter of Gary and Karen Adkins of Smyrna, Tenn.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Waldron of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Christine Adkins of Marlow, Okla., and the late George Wilford Adkins.
The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mulroy of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Joseph A. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Schaffer.
A 2003 graduate of North Daviess High School, the future bridegroom attended Wabash College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in rhetoric. While at Wabash he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and a four-year letterman and All-Conference lineman of the football team. He is currently attending the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, graduating in May with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. While at Samford, he has served as the Moot Court Chief Justice. He has accepted a position with Parker, Lawrence, Cantrell & Dean, LLP in Nashville, Tenn.
A 2003 graduate of Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn., the bride-elect attended Vanderbilt University where she received a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. While at Vanderbilt she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and a member of the Swingin’ Dores, Vanderbilt’s female a cappella group. She is currently attending the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University graduating in May with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. While at Samford, she has served as the editor of the Cumberland Law Review. She has accepted a position with Loeb & Loeb, LLP in Nashville.
The couple will exchange vows Aug. 21 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Nashville, with a reception to follow at the Hillwood Country Club.
Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Nashville.
