WASHINGTON —
Robert and Sheila White of Loogootee announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodi Leigh White, to Matthew Croucher, son of Alan and Robyn Croucher of Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia.
The couple met in Yokosuka, Japan, while Matt was admitted to the hospital that Jodi was stationed at and was assigned as his nurse. After his discharge they continued their friendship that later developed into love.
The future bride received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Indiana University. She joined the Navy as an officer upon graduation and is currently stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. Her fianceÕ graduated from Heathcote High School and has since served in the Royal Australian Navy as a boatswain mate for the past eight years.
An Oct. 20 wedding and reception are planned at the Jasper Country Club.
