Police report

WASHINGTON — CITY REPORT

Monday

12:38 p.m. — Maintenance picked up a red and black, 26-inch Mongoose bike from behind the Dumpster at Circle K and placed it in the bike room.

8:18 a.m. — A teacher at Twin Rivers reported a trailer had been broken into at their construction site at 905 S.W. Sixth St. and tools, candy and possibly computer equipment had been taken. Officers will provide extra patrol.

5:58 a.m. — Cathy Willis, 2300 Countryview Estates, Apt. 22, reported the theft of a wooden wishing well from her yard overnight.

Sunday

6:20 p.m. — Clarence Selby reported the door was busted in on a shed behind the armory. An officer secured the door and made contact with a keyholder, who said nothing appeared to be missing.

6:09 p.m. — Kara McCarthy reported her iPad was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at the YMCA. Later it was determined the iPad had been stolen from her shopping cart at Walmart earlier in the day. The incident was captured on video and officers are attempting to identify the person responsible.

5:56 p.m. — George baker advised he noticed a male subject walking around his vehicle while it was parked in the Hardee’s parking lot, then when he went out to get in the vehicle he found soda pop had been poured on his seat. Officers located the male who’d been walking around the vehicle, and he denied responsibility for the act.

5:24 p.m. — Rodney Babrick reported someone stole his 4-month-old miniature pinscher from his vehicle while it was parked in the CVS parking lot between 11 and 11:30 a.m. He advised the dog was wearing a blue collar with pawprints and answers to the name Roscoe.

1:59 p.m. — Chasity Wilcox, 600 Ogdon St., reported the theft of a 2009 electric blue 50 sports moped. She last saw it on Friday.

Saturday

5:36 p.m. — Missy Burton, 827 Greenwood St., reported a burgundy Mongoose bicycle was in her yard. Officers picked it up and put it in lost and found.

7:32 p.m. — An unknown male reported a tree branch was down on a power line across from Washington Nursing Center and power was out in the area. Line crews responded to this and several other reports of power outages.

10:19 p.m. — Michael Mathis reported someone had taken his moped from the Washington High School parking lot during the football game.

Friday

11:19 p.m. — Jerry Storey, 510 Vine St., reported the theft of a TV and Playstation III.

COUNTY REPORT

Saturday

2:52 a.m. — A caller on Cosby Road reported a suspicious car in the area that sped off when she turned on a light. She requested extra patrol.

Friday

11:03 p.m. — A tree was reported down and blocking part of SR 57S. INDOT was advised.

ARRESTS

Andi Michael, 27, Washington, was arrested Sunday by city police for public intoxication and was held at Daviess County Security Center on $2,000 bond.

MARTIN COUNTY REPORT

Sunday

3:22 p.m. — An accident was reported at the zip lines, and Shoals Fire and Martin County ambulance personnel responded. Transport was made to Paoli hospital. Air Evac was called to respond.

10:16 a.m. — Vandalism to a trailer was reported at Redwing Trailer Park in Loogootee.

10:02 a.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on Stephens Street.

9:35 a.m. — A car was broken into at the Shoals American Legion.

5:10 a.m. — Trespassing was reported at a residence on Chicken Farm Road. The caller requested extra patrol.

1:21 a.m. — Gasoline was reported stolen from the Stiles Road area.

    The Team Todd Relay for Life team will be joining with Tri-State Wrestling to bring an event to the Old Petersburg Gym on Saturday. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with bell time at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 and children under 4 are free. All proceeds from the event go to the Daviess County Relay for Life Team Todd.

    The Dollar General Literacy Foundation announced an award of $7,800 to the Washington Carnegie Public Library to support the new adult literacy program being now being offered.

    Fifty-five years ago Jerry Decker wrote letters back home to his sweetheart, Carol, from Camp Pendleton, California where he was based in the Marine Corps. Fifty-five years later, Jerry still had his letters from Carol.  But Carol, now Jerry¹s wife of 52 years, had, well misplaced a few of hers.

    11:08 p.m. - A female caller reported a power outage on Old U.S. 50 W. Line crews responded, but were not able to restore electricity due to a faulty underground line. The line was fixed Wednesday.

  • Shoals graduation set

    Commencement exercises will be held in the gymnasium of the Shoals Junior-Senior High School at 2 p.m. Saturday for 36 candidates for graduation. The Junior-Senior High School Band, under the direction of Joel Weitkamp, will open the commencement program with the processional, followed by the national anthem.
