Minors caught drinking at football game


Underage drinking at Friday’s Washington High School football game led to several arrests.

Sgt. Steve Mize was called to the football field at 8:55 p.m. where children were reportedly drinking alcohol. The children ran from Mize and Patrolman Barry Hudson but they were soon located. A 10-year-old girl was taken to Daviess Community Hospital. She was charged with minor consuming and public intoxication. Two boys, ages 11 and 15, were both charged with minor consuming and public intoxication. They were both released to parents. A 13-year-old boy was charged with minor consuming and public intoxication. He was taken to Southwest Youth Village, Vincennes.

The officers learned who had allegedly provided the alcohol. They went to 515 1/2 E. George St. where they found adults and minors with alcohol and marijuana. Arrested were Jayme Allen Booher, 21, 415 E. George St., who was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and visiting a common nuisance. Janene Lynn Green, 26, 505 Jefferson St., was charged with possession of marijuana and visiting or maintaining a common nuisance. Joseph Robert Stuckey, 22, 511 N. Meridian St., was charged with two counts of possession of marijuana, visiting or maintaining a common nuisance, dealing in marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Andrew Christian Oconnor, 20, 506 Sunset Ave., was charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana and visiting or maintaining a common nuisance.

Stuckey and Oconnor were released on $13,500 and $4,500 bond respectively. Green and Booher were being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $4,000 and $6,000 bond respectively.

Charges were also filed against Jace C. Sparks, 19, maintaining a common nuisance, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of paraphernalia; Brittain N. Howard, 18, visiting a common nuisance; Tabitha N. Smith, 21, visiting a common nuisance; Marcus H. Wagler, 19, visiting a common nuisance; Elliott W. Dant, 19, visiting a common nuisance; Cory J. Cox, 27, visiting a common nuisance; Janette M. Russell, 26, visiting a common nuisance; and a 16-year-old female charged with possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.
