Meth bust leads to 5 arrests

ALFORDSVILLE — Five people were taken into custody Saturday following a drug bust in southeast Daviess County.

According to a press release from the state police, troopers, along with deputies from both Daviess and Dubois counties, and state conservation officers raided a house at 12265E 800S at 9:30 p.m.

State police and Dubois County deputies received information Friday on a possible methamphetamine lab at the Alfordsville location. After search warrants were obtained, officers found the lab, along with meth precursors, a small amount of processed meth, a semi-automatic handgun and drug paraphernalia.

A 1-year-old child was also at the scene. Taken into custody were two males, three females and a one-year-old child following the search. The baby was placed in the custody of relatives by Child Protective Services.

Those arrested were: James Dotterweich, 39, and Autumn Dotterweich, 29, both of the CR 800S address; Roger Hutchinson, 30, Jasper; Kristy Little, 22, and Amanda Cooper, 30, both of Cannelton.

All were charged with seven counts in relation to the search: two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of meth precursors, possession of paraphernalia, possession of an overpressure device, criminal recklessness and visiting a common nuisance.

Hutchinson and Autumn Dotterweich were charged with an additional count of possession of a narcotic drug.

All five are being held at the Daviess County Security Center. Cooper, Little and Hutchinson have $100,000 each bond. Autumn Dotterweich has a $150,000 bond and James Dotterweich is being held on $250,000 bond.
