WASHINGTON —
City police are looking for a Washington man in connection with a stabbing incident of two teenage girls over a week ago.
Daniel L. Westfall, 30, reportedly of 1203 McCormick Ave., is a person of interest according to a statement from the Washington Police Department. Detectives have been trying to reach Westfall for a week to interview him, but he has not been found.
According to reports from the scene and dispatch reports, two girls were walking home from Haunted High on the night of Oct. 6, when a man was following the two.
The two girls walked home to 902 E. Walnut Street when a male then appeared. The male knew one of the females, who will not be identified, and asked to speak with her. She said “No,” and the other girl, who lived at the home, told the male to get off the property.
According to reports, a knife was then brandished and the male was in a struggle with one of the females. The female was cut in the neck area. When the other female tried to help, she was cut in the face.
The male then left the scene. Police were called around 11:30 p.m. to a report of someone bleeding in the front yard.
Both females were taken to Daviess Community Hospital and then St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. Both were treated and released.
Officers are not saying if Westfall has left the area, but more is expected this week on the case.
Westfall is also a registered sex offender from a 2007 arrest in Greene County for seven felony counts of child molesting in Daviess County.
He was sentenced in 2009 to a count of Class B felony child molesting, but has been in and out of court in connection with the conditions of his probation, according to court records.

9:33 p.m. - A male caller at 603 N.W. Second St. said his roommate shot himself in the tongue with a pellet gun. The roommate told officers he thought the gun was not loaded. Both the caller and the roommate were taken to Daviess Community Hospital.
