WASHINGTON —
The race to fill local school boards started last week, and only a few have filed for the November election.
Four candidates, incumbents Peg Stephens, Mike Traylor, Vicki Bubalo and Rob Dove, have filed for re-election. Stephens, Traylor and Bubalo are Washington School Board members while Dove is on the ND School Board.
But there are offices to be filled before the Aug. 24 filing deadline. And for the first time, voters in Indiana will vote for school board members in November rather than the May primary.
School board positions include:
Washington (Incumbents in parenthesis)
• District 1 (Peg Stephens)
• At-Large (Mike Traylor)
• At-Large (Vicki Bubalo)
Barr-Reeve
• District 1 (Galen Graber)
North Daviess
• District 2 (Darin Holder)
• District 3 (Rob Dove)
• At-Large (Tom Nugent)
Those wanting to file are to do so with the Daviess County Clerks’ Office.
