Friends for Animals to hold meet and greet

Area Briefs

WASHINGTON — Friends For Animals Inc. will have a meet and greet time at Orscheln’s Farm Store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Pet Christmas pictures will also be taken at this time. Two  4 x 6 prints $5 per sitting. All proceeds will benefit Friends For Animals, a 501(c) 3 charity.

Feed My Sheep on Saturday

Feed My Sheep will distribute groceries from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 601 W. Oak St. There will be no admittance to the building until 9 a.m. and the doors will be locked at 1 p.m.

Groceries will be distributed at the Odon Nazarene Church, SR 58, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday for persons with Odon and Elnora addresses.

Emergency food will only be given by referral from another agency. Connections can be reached at 257-2650

Feed My Sheep is a food-help program for residents of Daviess County. If you have any questions for Feed My Sheep, call 254-5429 and leave a message.

Promise auditions on Dec. 30

Callouts/auditions for the Promise 2013 production (March 9-16) will take place in the Antioch Christian Church old auditorium (U.S. 50 E) on Dec. 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Those interested in crew, townspeople or chorus need to stop by for rehearsal schedules and contact information. All children under the age of 12 in the production must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Those auditioning for a solo or main part must come prepared with a song. Those persons will also be asked to read through a scene or two. For further information call 254-2133.

    Area farmers are feeling the crunch to get crops into the ground as soon as possible. Wet conditions have halted many of the planting days in the last week.  Just five days were suitable for planting as the soil remains too wet in much of the southern portion of the state.
