8:42 a.m. — Dispatch received a call from two subjects on work release that claimed their mopeds had been stolen from NE Fourth St.
1:07 p.m. — Dispatch received a report of a stolen red 2002 Toyota Tundra pickup. Plate number 248173L. The vehicle was taken from owner, Doyan Riley’s residence at 3004 Cosby Road in Washington.
COUNTY REPORT
Sunday
9:49 a.m. — Dispatch received a call that four vehicles were stuck at the Old Bed. The property owner advised it was okay for the subjects to go back with a tractor to get the trucks out, but he wants any ruts filled in and does not want them on the property again.
10:11 a.m. — A tree was reported down across the roadway on CR 900N near I-69 in Odon.
ARRESTS
James Lee Frederick, 32, Lawrencville, Ill., was arrested by city police Friday for OVWI refusal, OVWI endangering, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was held on $8,000 bond.
Robert Malone, 37, Washington, was arrested by city polic Friday for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was held on $4,000 bond.
James A. Knepp, 50, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday on a warrant for petition to revoke. He was released on $2,000 bond.
Amber Orender, 24, Bruceville, was arrested Friday on a warrant for failure to appear. She was held on $2,000 bond.
Octaviano Beltran, 18, Florida, was arrested Saturday by city police for illegal possesion of alcohol and driving while never licensed. He was held on $4,000 bond.
Kelvis Edmond, 34, Washington was arrested by city police Saturday for driving while never receiving a license.
Jamie Chavez, 34, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for OVWI refusal. He was held on $2,000 bond.

Prejudging for the Daviess County Fair’s Little Miss and Mister contest will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Elnora Fire Station.

ND to adopt new textbooks
The North Daviess School Board approved the adoption of new reading textbooks for kindergarten through grade six.
Reading Street from Pearson Scott Foresman will be used for the next six years beginning in the fall. Text books fees for the upcoming school year will remain about the same for kindergarten through grade six. Textbooks for the junior and senior high will vary depending on the classes in which students enroll.

Man shot with BB gun
Monday
9:33 p.m. - A male caller at 603 N.W. Second St. said his roommate shot himself in the tongue with a pellet gun. The roommate told officers he thought the gun was not loaded. Both the caller and the roommate were taken to Daviess Community Hospital.

Hupmobile club to visit locally
If you see nearly two dozen classic cars rolling up and the down the roads of Daviess County and the surrounding areas next week, there’s a good chance you are seeing a Hupmobile. Beginning Sunday, the International Hupmobile Club will begin its annual tour, this time across southwest Indiana.

James D. Jones, 60, of Shoals has been identified as the suspect killed when gunfire was exchanged between Jones and State Trooper Jarrod Lents, a nine year veteran of the Indiana State Police
