EVANSVILLE — Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger of the Catholic Diocese of Evansville, in accordance with church law, will send a required letter of resignation to Pope Benedict XVI in October 2010.
The bishop, who turned 74 years old on Oct. 20, 2009, will mark his 75th birthday next year.
