PETERSBURG — One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday.

Walnut St., was traveling south on SR 57 when he crossed the center line causing a head-on collision with a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Christine Kell, 49, Evansville, that was traveling north on SR 57.

Parsons suffered facial and head injuries and was transported to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville were he is currently in stable condition in the ICU unit.

Initial investigation showed that Parsons did have illegal narcotics in his system, which could have been a factor in the cause of the accident. Charges are still pending against Parsons. The investigation is still on going.

Kell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner and transported to the Evansville morgue pending an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
