In 2011, Daviess County will have a new (or possibly former) sheriff as current Sheriff Steve Cox announced he is not seeking re-election.
Cox, a Republican who won election in 2006, said he will not run again but at least one candidate has announced to Republican leaders that he will run — former two-term Sheriff Jerry Harbstreit.
