NJROTC to compete at Purdue

After months of training, 15 cadets in the NJROTC corps at Washington High School will be competing in an annual competition at Purdue University this weekend. The competition, sponsored by the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, is open to any JROTC drill unit and usually has between 12 and 18 teams participating from schools across the state.

The cadets compete in various forms. There are basic drill platoon, armed and unarmed, color guard and armed squads competitions. In the armed squads, seven to 12 cadets participate as a team.
