WASHINGTON — The Daviess County Commissioners will be lifting the 10-ton load limit on county roads at 6 a.m. Monday.
SAFS activities for next week
Monday - No activities planned. Regular business will be open.
Tuesday- Brunch at Prairie Village, 9:30 a.m. No activities at SAFS.
Wednesday - EastGate Manor bingo 10 a.m., Enhance Fitness 2:30 p.m.
Thursday - Bible Study 10 a.m., Crochet Club 1 p.m.
Friday - Enhance Fitness 2:30 p.m.
Free tax services at Senior and Family Services. The service is limited to a $50,000 income level.

City offices closed Monday
All city offices and departments will be closed Monday in observance of PresidentsÕ Day. There will be no trash pick up and the city bus will not be in operation. The Recycling Center will also be closed. Residents with trash pick up on Monday are urged to have their trash ready for pick up by 7 a.m. Tuesday.

County Civil War
Roundtable to meet
The Daviess County Civil War Roundtable will meeat at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Daviess County Museum. Guest speaker is Byron Buckley, author of recently published book “Colonel Hageman Tripp.” The public is invited.
ND School Board to meet Monday
The School Board of Trustees of North Daviess Community Schools will meet in the superintendent’s office in executive session at 5:30 p.m. Monday to discuss a job performance evaluation. The regular open session will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school library.
Loogootee SB to meet Monday
Loogootee Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees will meet in executive session at 6:15 p.m. Monday. The open session will be at 7 p.m.
WHS freshman orientation
WHS freshman orientation (for current 8th grade students) will be held in the Washington High School auditorium on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. Last names beginning A-K should attend on Tuesday night and last names beginning L-Z should attend on Wednesday. All information regarding programs and scheduling for next year will be presented.
