WASHINGTON — CITY REPORT

Tuesday

9:35 a.m. — The owner of Dutchland, 110 S.E. Third St., advised three mopeds were parked between his property and the railroad tracks. Police picked them up and discovered at least two of them were stolen. The owners were notified.

Monday

8:18 p.m. — A small bag was found at Eastside Park near the utilities department building, and it was believed the items inside were related to drug use. They were collected and destroyed.

COUNTY REPORT

Tuesday

1:30 a.m. — A caller reported several subjects possibly breaking and entering at 2276N 1000E. They were attempting to remove the screen windows. Extra patrol was given.

Monday

3:58 p.m. — A possible trash lab was reported on CR 150W.

3:11 p.m. — A caller reported two boys trying to break into a residence at 3007 Cosby Rd. They left westbound on red scooters. Suspects’ names were given.

11:09 a.m. — Breaking and entering was reported at 3004 Cosby Rd. A 2002 Toyota pickup, 1986 Honda Spree scooter, and a tackle box were missing. It also appeared an attempt had been made to set the curtains on fire.

Sunday

6:02 a.m. — A male caller advised when he told two females they needed to leave his home in Cannelburg they assaulted him. He refused medical attention for a nose injury. A report will be made and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

3:54 a.m. — A fight in progress was reported at 2049 SR 57S. The caller advised a male and female were fighting, and the female had a knife. The female was arrested, and the male was advised not to return to the property.

COUNTY ACCIDENTS

Monday

9:21 a.m. — Tony R. Armes, 44, Logan, Ill., was driving south on SR 257 in a 2012 Peterbilt semi pulling a hopper-type trailer when, as he entered a curve to the left just south of CR 400S, the trailer began sliding to the driver’s side and crossed the center line.

 He tried to correct the rig, which is registered to Commercial Transport Inc., Belleville, Ill., by steering to the right. But the trailer continued to slide, causing the tractor to overturn on the driver’s side. The vehicle slid off the roadway to the south, coming to rest with the trailer off the road and the cab on the highway.

The complaint reported the road was very slick and INDOT was notified. They advised to call IDEM, which recommended lightly sanding the road where there was a spill. The highway was closed until mid- to late afternoon.

Armes complained of pain to his arm, and the accident report listed his injury as a possible fracture or dislocation.

Damage was estimated between $50,000 and $100,000.

Sunday

11:34 a.m. — Christopher B. Maple, 54, Princeton, was southbound on SR 57 approaching CR 500 in his 1997 Toyota 4Runner when a large dog ran into the roadway. Maple stated he swerved to miss the dog and ran off the right side of the road, striking a road sign with the passenger side of the vehicle.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500. INDOT was notified about the sign.

Saturday

4:31 p.m. — Angela K. Gray, 29, 203 S.E. 11th St., was southbound on CR 100W in a 1995 Ford Explorer registered to her and Michael Cook, Wheatland. Gray stated she was adjusting the radio and when she looked up, she noticed she was driving off the roadway. The Ford went off the east side and Gray overcorrected, driving off the west side of the road. She then drove into a harvested cornfield and the vehicle rolled over several times before coming to rest on its wheels facing southwest.

Gray exited the vehicle and began to feel neck pain. She was transported by ambulance to Daviess Community Hospital ER.

Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.

ARRESTS

Gallrado Santiago, 46, Washington, was arrested Tuesday by city police for operating a vehicle while intoxicated/refusal, OVWI/prior conviction, habitual traffic violator, and possession of false government identifications. He was held at the Daviess County Security Center without bond.

Kelly Purcell, 36, Washington, was arrested Monday by city police on a warrant for habitual traffic offender, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of drug precursors. She was held without bond.

Kristie Quiggins, 26, Washington, was arrested by city police Monday for conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of drug precursors. She was held without bond.

Holly Lynn Smith, 33, Monroe City, was arrested Sunday by city police for theft. She was released on $2,500 bond.

MARTIN COUNTY REPORT

Sunday

10:18 p.m. — Dispatch received a call about a tree down on SR 150. They received similar calls at 4:36 p.m. about a tree on Deep Cut Lake Road, at 2:20 p.m. about a limb across Half Moon Road, and at 8:12 a.m. about a tree across Emmons Ridge Road. Deputies and firefighters removed the obstructions.

5:28 a.m. — A caller reported stolen prescriptions from Doane Trailer Park.

Saturday

9:36 p.m. — A car/deer accident was reported on SR 231 south of Loogootee.
