WASHINGTON —
Rupert Boneham, the “Survivor” castaway scheduled to appear at Saturday’s Eagle Fest in downtown Washington, has canceled.
Organizers for the benefit said Boneham called and had to cancel due to a meeting with the CBS network.
“He sincerely apologized for canceling,” Eagles State Conductor Debra Staley, also with the Eagles Auxiliary, said. “But he said he would be coming to Washington soon.”
Staley said Boneham could appear around February 2011.
But the Eagles will continue to hold the event at its Aerie on 500 E. Main St., from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Food, games, music and fun will be available all day at the Aerie, with food and desserts for sale. Local band American Pie will perform from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The event is to raise money for various local and national charities.
