Football sectional draw announced

WASHINGTON — Washington opens the IHSAA Football Sectional at home Oct. 19, while North Daviess will do some traveling.

The Hatchets (2-6) welcome Pike Central (2-6) to Hatchet Hollow for a 7 p.m. game. The Hatchets and Chargers play in the bottom bracket of Sectional 24. Princeton (4-4) plays at Evansville Memorial (2-6) to complete the bottom side.

In the upper sectional , Evansville Bosse (0-8) travels to Vincennes Lincoln (6-2), and Mount Vernon (2-6) visits Gibson Southern (7-1).

In the Class A Sectional 40 draw, North Daviess (3-5) travels to Union Dugger (2-6) in the opening bracket game. That game is also a 7 p.m. start. Wood Memorial (0-8) is at Tecumseh (4-4).

Linton (8-0) visits North Knox (4-4) and Eastern Greene (5-3) visits Perry Central (5-3) to complete the draw.

First round winners return Oct. 26, with championships set for Nov. 2. Game locations are determined by home games played in the tournament and bracket locations.

Those game sites will be announced after games from each week are played.

WHS camp is Monday
The Washington Hatchet's Summer Tennis Camp begins Monday at the Lena Dunn Elementary School courts.
Boys and girls entering grades three through eight this coming school year wishing to participate may register when the camp begins at 9 a.m. The camp continues each day until 10:30 a.m. through Thursday.
Each player should bring a racket (one can be provided), a towel and a water bottle.
The cost of the camp is $25 per person. Checks should be made to WHS Boys Tennis.
