WASHINGTON —
Tickets for the state volleyball tournament at Ball State University in Muncie this Saturday are available at Loogootee High School starting today.
Tickets may be purchased at the school’s athletic office from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. today, and during regular school hours on Thursday.
Tickets may also be obtained during a community pep session scheduled for Jack Butcher Arena at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Tickets are $10 each.
Arvin race set for Saturday
The Race for the Son is scheduled for Saturday, starting at the shelter house in Eastside Park.
The race is to raise funds for the Derek Arvin Scholarship for Washington High school seniors.
Arvin and Zach Blubaum were killed in an automobile accident last spring. The scholarship is in memory of the two victims.
Two races are being planned. A youth race to be held in the park will begin at 9 a.m.
Registration for that race is at 8 a.m.
The Arvin 5K race-walk begins at 10 a.m. Registration is at 9 a.m.
Persons may also still register by going to racefortheson.com. The youth race is $15 and the Arvin race is $25.
Soccer banquet set for Sunday
The Washington Junior and High School soccer banquet is at 6 p.m., Sunday, in the high school cafeteria.
Meals for players and coaches are provided. Family meals are $10 each.
Persons wishing to attend are asked to contact class representative parents, or by calling-texting to 610-0130.
Viking banquet is Monday
MONTGOMERY - The Barr-Reeve Fall Recognition and Awards evening begins at 6:30 p.m., Monday, in the school cafetorium.
A carry-in dinner will precede the award’s program. Each athlete is asked to bring three covered dish items. Soft drinks will be furnished.
Although junior high and grade school athletes will not be recognized, they are invited to attend. Persons attending should bring table service.
