Cougars win at the buzzer

Meghan Knepp didn't have time to think.

Trailing 30-29 with two seconds remaining in regulation, North Daviess forward Sabra Smith took an inbound pass inside half court, found Knepp on the right wing and Knepp did the rest by putting a three-pointer in the bottom of the net as time expired to beat visiting Shoals 32-30.

The win was North Daviess' fifth straight win to start the season. The Cougars outscored Shoals 13-7 in the fourth quarter, after being outscored 23-12 in the second and third quarter. North Daviess will host Washington Thursday.

• WHS camp is Monday

  The Washington Hatchet's Summer Tennis Camp begins Monday at the Lena Dunn Elementary School courts.
  Boys and girls entering grades three through eight this coming school year wishing to participate may register when the camp begins at 9 a.m. The camp continues each day until 10:30 a.m. through Thursday.
  Each player should bring a racket (one can be provided), a towel and a water bottle.
  The cost of the camp is $25 per person. Checks should be made to WHS Boys Tennis.
