School board to meet Tuesday

Area Briefs for Saturday

WASHINGTON — Bucshon to speak

Congressman Larry Bucshon will host a Roundtable on Job Creation in conjunction with the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) and the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana on Monday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. CDT at University of Southern Indiana, Business and Engineering Center, Third Floor, Evansville. This event is open to the public.

School board to meet

The Washington Community School Board will meet in executive session at the central office at 5 p.m. Tuesday for the purpose of receipt of information and interviews with prospective employees.

Commissioners, Council meet

Daviess County Commissioners and County Council will meet in executive session at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse to discuss litigation.

An open session will be held at 9 a.m.

Four Rivers board meting

The Daviess-Martin/Four Rivers Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Daviess County Division conference room in Washington. The agenda for the meeting will be posted at both the FRRS Daviess/Martin County Division offices in Washington and Loogootee.

Odon library board to meet

The Board of Trustees of the Odon Winklepleck Public Library will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at the library.

Genealogy Society to meet

The Martin County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Shoals Public Library meeting room. Visitors are always welcome to attend meetings.

WHS ‘07 reunion

Washington High School Class of 2007 will hold its five year class reunion from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mulligan’s. Cost is $10 per person. For more information, call 787-0883.

WHS volleyball booster meeting

There will be a Washington High School volleyball booster club meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Ag room. Fundraising and activities for the season will be discussed so a parent for each player should attend.

Methodist Bible School

All children ages 3 (potty-trained) through grade six are invited to attend daily Vacation Bible School from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Free Methodist Church at 1155 Troy Road. Odon ‘52 reunion

  • WHS camp is Monday

    The Washington Hatchet's Summer Tennis Camp begins Monday at the Lena Dunn Elementary School courts.
    Boys and girls entering grades three through eight this coming school year wishing to participate may register when the camp begins at 9 a.m. The camp continues each day until 10:30 a.m. through Thursday.
    Each player should bring a racket (one can be provided), a towel and a water bottle.
    The cost of the camp is $25 per person. Checks should be made to WHS Boys Tennis.
