WASHINGTON — The Washington Catholic boys basketball team wanted to start the John Howell era in a positive manner, and they certainly accomplished that.
The Cardinals (1-0) defeated Lighthouse Christian 79-35 Monday evening at the Bird Cage.
Washington Catholic led 22-10 after the first quarter, and 41-19 at halftime on its way to an easy season opening victory. The Cardinals got 18 points from T.J. Hill, 17 from Brendan Purdue and 13 points from Colton Reed.
