PAOLI, Ind. — Loogootee won the opening two sets and then ended the match in the fourth to open its volleyball season Tuesday.
Loogootee won the opening two sets, 23-15 and 25-20 before Paoli won the third, 25-19. Loogootee then won the fourth set, 25-21, to secure the victory.
Christina Ziegler had 18 kills for Loogootee. Michala Beasley had 12 and Abby Ackerman 10.
Demi Richardson recorded 40 assists and 11 service points. Lauren Bowling had 13 digs and 10 points. Kailye Robbins had seven digs.
Monday tryouts for travel team
Basketball tryouts for the 4th grade DistinXion travel team will be held Monday at 6pm in the DistinXion gym at Antioch Christian Church.
Any fourth grade boy in the Washington School corporation is welcome to participate.

Fall season planned
A fall softball season is being planned by the Washington Softball Association.
Registration fee for teams is $325. The deadline to register is Monday.
The league begins plays at Longfellow Park Sept. 4. Teams will play a 10-game schedule with a single elimination tournament scheduled to end the season.
