Jasper defeated Washington, 153-193, in golf at Country Oaks Wednesday.
Jasper’s McKenzie Hillsmeyer was medalist with a round of 35.
Washington (19-29) was led by a 41 from Natalya Meinhart and a 43 from Kayla Mercer. Haven Lunsford shot 54, Cheyenne Jones 55 and Destiny Graber 63.
“Natalya had her low nine-hole round of the season,” Washington coach Morris Petty said. “Kayla had a very good ball-striking round, and she continues to be very steady. Cheyenne and Haven continue to improve. They were just a couple of bad holes away from being in the 40s.”
Wolverines stop Cougars
ELNORA — White River Valley took both doubles matches and one singles to hand North Daviess a 3-2 tennis loss Wednesday.
For the Cougars, Scott Woodruff defeated Ethan Hoffeditz in straight 6-0 single sets, as did Braden Lawyer against Sam Krieling.
Michael Fisher defeated Evan Hawk, 6-4, 0-6, 6-4. Doubles teams of Luke Mowery-Trent Myers topped Lane Heshelman-Trevor Wikle, 6-0, 6-1, and Colton Gregory-Jordan English defeated Lane Fulton-Trent Bowman, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
Brian Lawyer won three junior varsity matches, 6-3, 6-5 and 6-3.
Vikings edge Rivet, 3-2
MONTGOMERY — The Barr-Reeve defeated Vincennes Rivet. 3-2, in junior high tennis Wednesday.
Trent Graber, Trevor Lengacher and Kolten Graber won singles matches, 8-3, 8-6 and 8-2 respectively for the Vikings.
Mitchell Wagler-Johnny Walker were defeated 10-9 (8-6) and Nick Parrsons-Jake Winkler lost 10-9 (7-5).
Soccer dinner after parade
The Lady Hatchet Soccer Spaghetti Dinner is Sept. 7 at the North Elementary School cafeteria following the football homecoming parade until 7:30 p.m.
The meal includes spaghetti, breadsticks, desert and a drink.

Cougars set fall league
ELNORA — Registration for the sixth annual North Daviess girls basketball fall league is from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, in the high school library.
The league is for girls in the North Daviess School Corporation in grades three through six. The league is split into two seperate age groups, and games are scheduled for each night.
A full schedule will be distributed during registration periods. The cost is $10 per player. T-shirts are included.

Wagler, Stoll pace Vikings
Brandon Wagler and Myron Stoll each hit three-run home runs as Barr-Reeve defeated Eastern Greene, 15-3, in six innings Monday.

WHS camp is Monday
The Washington Hatchet's Summer Tennis Camp begins Monday at the Lena Dunn Elementary School courts.
Boys and girls entering grades three through eight this coming school year wishing to participate may register when the camp begins at 9 a.m. The camp continues each day until 10:30 a.m. through Thursday.
Each player should bring a racket (one can be provided), a towel and a water bottle.
The cost of the camp is $25 per person. Checks should be made to WHS Boys Tennis. -
Washington Catholic High School is seeking coaches for the fall season.
Coaching positions open include: varsity and junior varsity volleyball; junior high volleyball, and junior high boys soccer.
