WASHINGTON —
Washington Catholic opens the defense of its Class A boys soccer sectional title at North Dubois against the hosts Monday, while Washington opens the Class 2A sectional against host Boonville the same evening.
The Cardinals play the Jeeps at 5:30 p.m. Monday to start the Class A event. Shoals and Forest Park play at the conclusion of that match.
The championship pits the winners of those matches at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday.
The Hatchets also face the tournament host when they play Boonville in the Class 2A sectional at 6 p.m. Monday.
Evansville Central and North meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with Castle playing the winner of the first match at the conclusion of Central-North match.
Winners return for the championship at 8 p.m., Oct. 6.
Washington’s girls team waits until Oct. 4 to play Evansville Central at 6 p.m. in the evening’s first match at Castle.
Castle and Boonville meet to open the Class 2A sectional at 6 p.m. Monday. Evansville North awaits the winner of that match after the Hatchets and Central have finished.
The championship is Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.
Washington Catholic’s girls meet South Knox in the Class A Sullivan sectional at 6 p.m. Pike Central and Sullivan are scheduled for 5 p.m., Tuesday, with West Vigo and South Vermillion to play at the conclusion of the opener.
North Knox meets the winner of the opening match at 5 p.m., Oct. 4, with winners of matches two and three to follow.
The championship match is set for 7 p.m., Oct. 6.

WHS camp is Monday
The Washington Hatchet's Summer Tennis Camp begins Monday at the Lena Dunn Elementary School courts.
Boys and girls entering grades three through eight this coming school year wishing to participate may register when the camp begins at 9 a.m. The camp continues each day until 10:30 a.m. through Thursday.
Each player should bring a racket (one can be provided), a towel and a water bottle.
The cost of the camp is $25 per person. Checks should be made to WHS Boys Tennis. -
Washington Catholic High School is seeking coaches for the fall season.
Coaching positions open include: varsity and junior varsity volleyball; junior high volleyball, and junior high boys soccer.
