Hatchets, Vikings split pair

WASHINGTON —

Washington and Barr-Reeve split fifth and sixth grade boys basketball games.

Barr-Reeve won the sixth grade game, 31-15. Isaac Wagler scored 11 points for Barr-Reeve (5-1). Tristan Graber scored seven, Quentin Yoder six, Austin Ainscough and Gage Wilson three each and Ross Knepp one.

Washington won the fifth grade game, 27-16.

Mitchell Kavanaugh scored six points for Barr-Reeve (3-3). Nathan Hunt and Keegan O¹Neil scored four each and Jacob Wagler two.

Patriots win 2 against Vikings

VINCENNES ‹ Vincennes Rivet won a pair of fifth and sixth grade girls basketball games against Barr-Reeve.

Vincennes Rivet won the sixth grade game, 34-20.

Tyanna Graber scored 16 points for the Vikings and Moriah scored four.

The Patriots won the fifth grade game, 23-22, in overtime.

Moriah Bullock and Kara Hughes scored nine each for Barr-Reeve. Alexis Traylor and Kaitlyn Mincey scored two each.

    Northeast Dubois defeated Barr-Reeve 5-0 Thursday afternoon to win the Loogootee girls tennis sectional.

    A Washington girls soccer call-out meeting will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Lena Dunn cafeteria. The meeting is for girls entering 7th-12th graders who are interested in junior high and high school soccer.

    Loogootee’s Zach Wagler placed second and fourth in two events at Thursday's boys track sectional.
    Wagler placed second in the 1,600 meters in a time of 4:33.15, and was fourth in the 3,200 meters in 10:21.
