WASHINGTON —

Freshman Vikings win

The Barr-Reeve freshman boys basketball team defeated North Daviess 54-23 Tuesday evening. The Vikings were led by Jalon Graber with 21 points, followed by Adam Graber with 17 points. Trevor Yoder added seven points, Chris Howell added four points, Blake Hoover and Charles O’Neill had two points apiece. The Cougars were led by Nate Tippery with eight points, Brayton Osmon added five, Clay Wilson had four, and Sam Chapin, Justin Knepp and Jacob Smiley scored two points a piece.

 

Lady Hatchets defeat Bloomfield

The Washington seventh grade girls basketball team (9-3) defeated Bloomfield Monday evening by a score of 47-19. Tyra Thombleson led Washington with 19 points, Jalynn Austin, Elizabeth Stallman, Sara Lewis and Lakota Jones had six points apiece. Megan Norton and Hannah Shrieves both added two points.

Hatchets win fourth straight

The Washington fifth grade girls basketball team defeated Otwell 24-3 Tuesday evening. The victory was the Hatchets’ fourth straight win. The Hatchets were led in scoring by Ali Barber with eight points, followed by Emily Klingle with six points. Quincee Healy had four, and two points each from Hanna Tucker, Mikayla Sipes and Malida Ajradinoska.

  • WHS camp is Monday

    The Washington Hatchet's Summer Tennis Camp begins Monday at the Lena Dunn Elementary School courts.
    Boys and girls entering grades three through eight this coming school year wishing to participate may register when the camp begins at 9 a.m. The camp continues each day until 10:30 a.m. through Thursday.
    Each player should bring a racket (one can be provided), a towel and a water bottle.
    The cost of the camp is $25 per person. Checks should be made to WHS Boys Tennis.
