Sorrells stars at Dubois
Connor Sorrells was a double winner for Barr-Reeve at the boys Blue Chip track meet Thursday.
Sorrells took wins in the 1,600 meters in a time of 4:22.20, and won the 3,200 meters in 7:33.

Jalen Madison won the boys discus and the Hatchets had several seconds and thirds at the boys Big 8 track meet Thursday.

Softball Sectional matchups finalized
Three of the area softball teams open sectionals at Jasper and Washington Monday. Washington faces Heritage Hills at 5:30 p.m., with Mitchell and Jasper to follow. Host Jasper faces Mitchell after the Hatchets and Patriots open the sectional.

Barr-Reeve bested by Bloomfield
The Barr-Reeve girls’ tennis team (7-5) lost to Bloomfield 3-2 Wednesday afternoon. Allison Hoover lost her No. 1 singles match to Bloomfield’s Kari Schulte (6-1, 1-6, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, Barr-Reeve Melody Rohrer fell to Liza Bartlett (7-5, 6-1) and at No. 3 singles, Bethanie Knepp lost to Elena Weddle (6-1, 6-2).

Cougars beat South Knox
Jaden Wagler had two hits and a Cougar mound trio combined to hand North Daviess an 8-5 baseball win over South Knox at North Daviess Tuesday.
Alex Wittmer started for the Cougars (6-11) and was relieved by Austin Buehler who pitched two innings. Tommy Newby closed the game for the Cougars. -
Cougars beat Shoals
Morgan Wadsworth and Brooke Moore combined on a two-hit softball shutout as North Daviess defeated Shoals, 12-0, Tuesday at North Daviess.
