Holders celebrating 50 years together

The children of Darvin and Barbara Holder invite friends and family to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents. A casual open house will be held at the Community Building at the Elnora Fairgrounds from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, July 26. There will be appetizers and fellowship.

Darvin Holder and Barbara Hyde were married Sept. 13, 1958, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City. After 30 years of service with the Indiana State Police, Darvin retired in 1997 and then worked seven years for the State Attorney General’s office before officially retiring in 2004. After 24 years of service for the Elnora Elementary School and the North Daviess School Corporation, Barbara retired in 2002. They resided in Elnora for almost 23 years, where they raised their five children before building a home in Odon, where they currently reside. They have 12 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
