Christina Louise Ellis and Joseph Roy Wallace Hastings were united in marriage Dec. 12, 2009, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Rev. Jim Koressel officiating.
The bride is the daughter of James R. (Bob) and Sharon Ellis of Montgomery. Her grandparents are William and Helen Ellis and Betty Craney and the late Donald W. Craney. Parents of the bridegroom are Tim and Carol Hastings of Elnora. He is the grandson of Virginia Hastings and the late Vincent Hastings and Clara Grafton and the late Dale Grafton.
A memorial candle was lit during the ceremony in loving memory of the grandfathers who passed away.
Anita Ellis, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Remsburg and Anna Hastings, both sister of the bridegroom and Ashley Shofner. Flower girls were Emily Remsburg and Jordan Remsburg, nieces of the bridegroom.
Dan Chestnut served as best man. Groomsmen were T.G. Kaiser, Seth Gregory and Michael Ellis, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was David Remsburg, nephew of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Derrick Alderson, Kyle Smith and Jason Remsburg, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Reader at the service was Michelle Ash, cousin of the bride. Guest book attendant was Anna Craney, aunt of the bride. Programs were passed out by Becky Meyer and Andrea Divine, both cousins of the bride. Bubbles were passed out by Wyatt Baker, cousin of the bride, and Decon Kaiser. Organist was Angie Traylor and soloist was Amy Kavanaugh.
The bride wore a white Alfred Angelo satin strapless A-line gown ruched in front with crystal beading and crescent-shaped beaded panel on left side and a chapel train. The flowers were designed and arranged by the mother of the bridegroom, Carol Hastings, and Amy Remsburg, sister of the bridegroom.
A dinner and dance was held at the Montgomery Ruritan Building. The wedding cake was designed by the bride’s aunt, Rita Burch. The cake servers were Rita Burch, Linda Divine and Nancy Huebner, all aunts of the bride, Nancy Beach, aunt of the bridegroom, and Jamie Divine, cousin of the bride.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Barr-Reeve High School and a 2007 graduate of Vincennes University, with an associate’s degree in administrative office technology. She is employed full-time with MLE Enterprise at NSWC Crane.
The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of North Daviess High School and a 2005 graduate of Vincennes University in fire science and welding. He is employed full-time with C & S Machine in Plainville, and is a volunteer firefighter for the Elnora-Elmore Township Department.
After the wedding the couple resides at 4195E 1400N, Elnora.
