WHS wins 6th title - A Slideshow

More than 3,000 members of Hatchet Nation were on hand for Saturday’s sold-out Class 3A state championship game at Conseco Fieldhouse and they will tell you, “Hatchetball” is the kind of basketball that wins state championships.

Six state championships, to be exact, after Washington’s thrilling 65-62 overtime victory over the Gary Wallace Hornets.

    No, not 60 as the laws of multiplication dictate, but six, as in the number of consecutive sectional titles the Hatchets have now claimed after a 43-30 win over Jasper in the championship game of Sectional 31 at the Hatchet House.
