Joseph Byrer Jr.

Died Nov. 4, 2012

GLASSBORO, N.J. — Joseph D. Byrer Jr., 84, died Nov. 4 in Glassboro. He was born in Raglesville and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korean War. He met and married the love of his life, Ruth Ann (Reeves) Byrer, and they spent almost 50 years together. A very generous man, Joe would help anyone in need. He was very active in his church and came home to Indiana to spend time with his family in the summer. His passions include his faith, his family and being an educator at Rowan University for over 25 years. He was the loving father of Deborah, Rebekah and David (Roseann) Byrer; adoring Pop-Pop of Marceline, Daniel, Isaac and Caleb; dear brother of Gletus Dant, Almeida Flynn, Karen Karns, Randall (Shirley) Byrer and the late Marceline Byrer; and devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Odon Chapel. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hurricane Sandy Relief Funds.
