Jerry Stovall

March 3, 1936 - Jan. 11, 2013

WASHINGTON — Jerry F. Stovall, 76, of Washington, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday at his residence. Born March 3, 1936, in Sedalia, Ky., he was the son of Emmit T. and Annie (Deanen) Stovall. He retired from United States Department of Agriculture as an inspector. He was a member of Bethel North United Methodist Church and the Conservation Club. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed gardening, tinkering with old cars and was a big basketball fan. He is survived by his wife, Marietta (Herndon) Stovall, whom he married April 10, 1955; two sons, Gary Dean (Tara) Stovall of New Orleans, La., and Douglas Lee (Tracy) Stovall of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Debra Ann (Laszlo) Pinnyei of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Pamela Jean Clymer of Washington; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, George Stovall of Mayfield, Ky.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Murphy of Greencastle and Lois Lewis of Union City, Tenn. He is preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gill Chapel, with Rev. Marvin Cheek officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Feed My Sheep.     Born Sept. 30, 1935, in Daviess, she was the daughter of Arlan V. and Essie (Hardesty) Nolley. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1953 and retired as a bookkeeper from McDonald Chevrolet in Washington after 43 years of service.
