Norman 'Muletrain' Edwards

MARHSALL, Ill. — MARSHALL, Ill. — Norman D. “Muletrain” Edwards, 74, died Tuesday at Knoxville Hospital, Knoxville, Tenn.

Born Aug. 28, 1935, in Plainville, he was the son of David P. and Ciela (Duzan) Edwards.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served from 1953 to 1959. A trucker for 30 years, he was also a barber for five years and farmer for six years. He was a former member of Washington Moose Lodge, VFW in Marshall, Ill., Teamsters Union in New Castle, Pa., and was an avid fly fisherman, turkey hunter and small engine mechanic.

He is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Susan Edwards of Grove City, Pa., Mike W. Edwards of Richmond, Va., Mark W. and Debbie Edwards of Strawplains, Va., Mike and Pam Dorn of W. Middesex, Pa., and Marc Dorn of Grove City; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Richard J. Smith of Holly Hill, Fla., Connie and Dan White of Clyde, Texas, Melissa and Brian Shufelt of Hulock, Md., and Dana and Pete Prohdel of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the last of his family, preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Washington chapel, with Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery with military graveside rites by the American Legion and VFW.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at the funeral home.
