ODON — Thomas H. Troup, 77, passed away Thursday at Kindred Hospital South in Greenwood. He was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Sandborn, to the late George and Katherine (Donahay) Troup. He attended the Sandborn Schools and in his youth he attended the First Christian Church of Sandborn and during his adult years he attended Pleasant Hill Community Church in Odon. Thomas was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing and camping. Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Alice Daniels and Beatrice Troup. Leaving behind to mourn his passing, but celebrating the life he lived is wife, Betty Mallette Troup whom he married Nov. 24, 1956; daughters, Debra (Darrell) Brower, Teresa Troup, Tammy (Roger) Wagler, all of Odon; grandchildren, Dr. Jess (Tara) Brower, Trent Brower, Ethen Wagler and Angela Wagler; great-grandchildren, Jackson Thomas Brower, Nolan Russell Brower and Addilynn Nicole Brower; brothers, George (Jeanne) Troup of Santa Ana, Calif., Jack (Betty) Troup of Washington state, Danny (Edna) Troup of Linton, and Robert (Sharon) Troup of Elnora. Services for Thomas will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Gill Chapel, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington, IN 47501, with minister Bryan Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
