LOOGOOTEE — Lillian M. Souerdyke, 88, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Martin County Health Care and Rehab Center in Loogootee. Born June 21, 1923, in Martin County, she was the daughter of William and Phoebe (Hunt) Ziegler. A member of Truelove United Methodist Church, she was a homemaker and had previously worked at Loogootee Reliance Mfg. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marge and Jerry Thompkins of Loogootee, Suzanne and Bill Franklin of Odon, and Bev and Fred Dupps of Loogootee; one son and daughter-in-law, Gil and Cindy Souerdyke of Bellevue, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Vernon R. Souerdyke, whom she married June 22, 1946, died Dec. 10, 1977. Also preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will be in Truelove Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
