MITCHELL — Donald J. Kane, 64, went home to be with the Lord at 9:12 a.m. Tuesday at Dunn Hospital in Bedford. Born July 29, 1946, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Joseph M. and Anna F. (Padgett) Kane. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Fran (Kincaid) Kane, whom he married Jan. 7, 1977; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy “Dottie” and Lawrence Colvin of Washington; his best friend, Brian Pipes of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Kane; and two nephews, Joe and John Sizemore. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Clark Cemetery in rural Mitchell. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to Clark Cemetery Association, 68 Valley St., Mitchell, IN 47446.
