WASHINGTON —
Gertrude Joan “Boonie” Jones, 79, died at 5:25 p.m. on Wednesday at Daviess Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1933, in Washington, she was the daughter of John D. and Eva Helen (Messar) Neidige.
She was a member of the Washington Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies of the Moose.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Lou Berry of Palm Bay, Fla., Brenda Kay Myers of Celestine, Nina Lynn and Brad Lowe of Terre Haute, and Donna Lee and Bob Elsey of Terre Haute; a sister, Patricia Kane of Washington; a brother, Robert Neidige of Washington; 11 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conan D. Jones, on July 28, 1978; two sisters, Maxine Clark and Shirley Tewell; and two brothers, Harold Neidige and Charles Neidige.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary, Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
