LOOGOOTEE — Charles R. “Slick” Cooper, 74, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at his home. Born April 11, 1938, in Loogootee, he was the son of Carl and Frances Vivian (McBryant) Cooper. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee and had attended St. John High School in Loogootee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a carpenter and owner and operator of Cooper Construction Company. Slick was an equestrian and raised and raced thoroughbred horses. In addition, he was a licensed race horse trainer. He was an avid Elvis fan, enjoyed playing the harmonica and watching Purdue basketball and the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball. He is survived by one daughter, Denise Matheis of Loogootee; two sons, Steve Cooper of Charlotte, N.C., and Garrick Cooper of Shoals; two brothers, Max Cooper of Loogootee, and Tom Cooper of Kokomo; one sister, Carla Howell of Shoals; five grandchildren, Alyssa Bledsoe, Lauren Matheis, Storm Cooper, Isaac Cooper and Chloe Cooper; and two great-grandchildren, Judd Bledsoe and Grace Bledsoe. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gerry Fiscus and Carolyn Blackwell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are being made through Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Daniel E. Foster, 65, died Thursday afternoon at his residence.
Born Dec. 3, 1947 in Montgomery, he was the son of Virgil and Mary (Yates) Foster. He graduated from Alfordsville High School in 1965.
Mary Fay Willis, 85, of Washington, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Manor. Born July 24, 1927, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Farris and Chrystal (Lamb) Wise.
Paisley Ann Morgan, two weeks old, of Washington, passed away at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Born April 30, 2013, in Newburgh, she was the daughter of Ryan and Brittany (Babrick) Morgan.

Mildred “Millie” (Mahan) Beck, 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 5:29 p.m. Wednesday with her family by her side at Daviess Community Hospital.
Shirley J. Ausbrook passed away Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Shirley was born on Feb. 3, 1939, in Clay City, Ill., to Leo and Vida E. Murbarger.
Cathy Lynn Gould, 62 of Washington, died at 11:47 a.m. Friday at her residence. She was the daughter of Hugh O. and Phyllis (Madden) McLemore, and lived in Washington nearly all her life.
Frank Price, 77, of Washington, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at Hillside Manor. Born June 29, 1935, in Loogootee, he was the son of Agatha (Spaulding) and Francis Price Sr.
Eileen Cole, 86, died at 9:57 a.m. Monday at the Loogootee Nursing Center. Born Sept. 19, 1926, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Frank and Connie (Jackman) Swickard.
Imogene Richardson, 88, of Washington, died at 9:32 p.m. Saturday at Washington Nursing Center. Born Sept. 21, 1924, in New Harmony, she was the daughter of George and Helen (Fisher) Jacobs.
Barton L. Webber
Barton L. Webber, 75, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday at his residence. Born Oct. 11, 1937, in Washington, he was the son of Floyd and Violet (Ross) Webber.
