Michael Eaton

May 12, 1952 - Feb. 2, 2013

WASHINGTON — Michael H. “Goose” Eaton, 60, of Washington, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Saturday at his residence. Born May 12, 1952, in Washington, he was the son of Max and Jodi (Bateman) Eaton. A 1970 graduate of Washington High School, he was working for Peabody Coal Company. He was an Indiana University basketball fan and a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Ochs) Eaton, whom he married Aug. 22, 2003; two daughters, Jill and husband John Newlin of Fort Wayne, and Kenna Bradley of Washington; two sons, Taj and wife Tonya Eaton of Montgomery, and Daulton Eaton of Washington; one stepson, Shawn (Melyda) Fredrick of Montgomery; his parents, Max and Jodi Eaton of Washington; two sisters, Vicki (Paul) Bertges of Gainesville, Fla., and Pam (Dan) McAtee of Washington; and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Eaton on Oct. 17, 1970. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Providence Mennonite Church, with Pastors Shawn Otto and Matt Merold officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are being made through Ed Lee Mortuary.
