WASHINGTON — Susan A. Bennett, 50, of Washington, passed away at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Born March 12, 1962, in Washington, she was the daughter of William and Virginia Mangin. She was a 1980 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, a 1984 graduate of Indiana State University, and 2002 graduate of Oakland City University. She was a teacher at Washington North Elementary Grade School. She was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, and Daviess County Right to Life. She had been a Daviess County 4-H Leader. She loved cooking and baking. She is survived by her husband, Lee Bennett, whom she married March 24, 2012; three sons, Zachary Fisher, Nicholas Fisher and Matthew Fisher, all of Washington; stepchildren, Tasha Alvis, Jacob Bennett and Shea Bennett, all of Washington; stepgrandchildren, Jackson Ellerman, Parker Alvis and Olivia Alvis, all of Washington; her parents, Virginia and William Mangin of Washington; brothers, Alan (Pauline) Mangin of Washington and Michael (Beth) Mangin of Terre Haute; father-in-law, Henry Bennett of Washington; sister-in-law, Tracey (Bill) McCain; brothers-in-law, Scott (Marla) Bennett, Marty (Julie) Bennett, and Dan (Mary) Bennett, all of Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Revs. Gordon Mann and Ron Zgunda as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church, with a wake service at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be given to Daviess County Relay for Life.
