MT. SUMMIT — Harold H. Miles, 99, passed away Thursday at Henry County Hospital. He was born June 5, 1913, near Washington, a son of the late Ray and Esther Barnes Miles. He had resided in Mt. Summit since 1954. He was a graduate of Plainville High School and was retired from Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit in 1982, after 28 years of service as production manager. He loved family activities and sharing time with his family and friends. He enjoyed taking his family each year to Florida to attend the Daytona 500. He enjoyed automobile racing, Indiana University basketball, Indiana Pacers basketball, and Indianapolis Colts football. He also enjoyed taking care of his lawn. He was a member of the Mt. Summit Christian Church. Left to cherish his loving memory include one daughter, Pamela Miles of Lake Forest, Calif.; one son, Jon Miles (wife Georgette) of Mt. Summit; one grandson, Josh Pope of Muncie; one sister, Phyllis Tolbert of Mitchell; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lorraine Miles (in 1993). The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Summit Christian Church, with Rev. Mark O’Brien officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Summit Christian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
