Saint Henry — Mary L. Buening, 67, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Born Oct. 22, 1941, in Washington, she was the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth (Wilson) Strange.
She attended Washington Catholic schools. She retired from Buehlers, where she worked in the deli department. She was a member of St. Henry Parish and Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome W. Buening, whom she married Sept. 9, 1961, at St. Mary’s Church in Washington; three sons, Christopher and Randy Buening, both of St. Henry, and James Buening of Huntingburg; two daughters, Debbie (Mike) Lytle of Eckerty and Jenny (Brian) Fleck of St. Anthony; one brother, George “Ernest” Strange of Washington; and 11 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Sarah V. Fleck.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with a parish prayer service at 5 p.m., and from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
